Who is behind this

A fifty-person festival on private land runs on people who decide it is worth backing before it exists. These are those people.

The people who make a patch of forest work like a venue.

• Renegade Events

  Experiential event design, production and management, out of Phoenix — audio, lighting, LED and full production management across more than a hundred events a year. The closest of anyone here to our own dirt.

• Endless Events

  Nationwide event management: production, technology, creative and strategy. Audio and video engineering at every scale from a room to a hundred thousand people.

• Denon DJ

  DJ players, mixers and controllers. The gear a seven-artist back-to-back at 2am is actually played on.

• KEF

  British loudspeakers since 1961, and the Uni-Q driver that put the tweeter in the middle of the woofer so a room has one sweet spot fewer to argue about.

• WiiM

  Network streaming amplifiers with room correction — hi-res audio without a rack of separates. A Linkplay brand.

• Party Headphones

  Silent disco rentals nationwide since 2012, up to three channels on noise-cancelling headphones. If you have wondered how a field full of people dances in silence, this is how.

• Eargasm

  High-fidelity earplugs that drop the volume without muting the detail — around 21dB of reduction with the music still intact. Saturday runs 8am to a 6am close. Consider them.

• Rivian

  Electric adventure vehicles built for the last mile being unpaved. The R1T and R1S go where the pavement stops, which is exactly where we are.

• Airstream

  Riveted aluminium travel trailers since 1931. If RV Row looks good in a photograph, it will be partly their fault.

• Meshtastic

  Open-source off-grid messaging over LoRa radio — encrypted text and positions across kilometres with no cell towers, no internet and no licence. There is almost no signal on the land, which makes this the most relevant technology on this page.

What is in the cooler.

• LaCroix

  Sparkling water, no sweeteners, no sodium. At altitude in dry air across a long weekend, the least glamorous thing here and possibly the most useful.

• Ponderosa Dispensary

  21+ — nothing sold or consumed on the land

  Arizona cannabis since 2013, now eight dispensaries including Phoenix, Flagstaff and Tucson. Nothing is sold on the land and nothing is consumed around anyone under 21.

• Twitch

  Live streaming. Sunday evening happens in a studio in Phoenix and goes out live, which is how a fifty-capacity festival reaches more than fifty people.

• DC Comics

  Eighty-odd years of the characters most of us met before we met each other. There is a movie on Sunday night.
